The Grand Canal - Venice

Note. When heading to "the spot" for a sunset picture, make sure you dont misjudge the amount of time you will spend waiting. We sat on the Rialto bridge for nearly 2 hours as the sun painfully made its way below the buildings. All the while bumping into the hoards of people, guarding the point of the tripod with my life and just generally being uncomfortable. In the end i ended up bumping the camera (thanks to a tremendous sneeze) and disturbed the layers i had built. Walking off in frustration we explored more of the city for 45 mins or so before returning to the Rialto bridge at what seemed to be the perfect time. I snapped this 7 exposure shot and was very lucky to capture a relatively "traffic free" stretch of water.

The moral of the story is; whilst planning is important to get the shot, sometimes your best laid plans fall apart, only to be improved upon when you least expect it.
